Will my vehicle’s warranty be affected?
Most manufacturers will allow aftermarket additions/modifications, including ECU re-mapping. The ECU modifications carried out by HEXUP will be undetectable by the diagnostic equipment used at the dealerships, however, we recommend that you contact them with any warranty concerns you may have.
Is your re-mapping reversible?
Our re-mapping is completely reversible. We keep a copy of your original file and can return the car to standard tune at your request.
Will the ECU need to be removed?
Most vehicles can be programmed via the diagnostic port using a serial interface, therefore (unless you have asked us to carry out a ‘postal remap’) it is unlikely that ECU removal will be required.
Why don’t the manufacturers carry out these modifications in the factory?
The manufacturer must make compromises with power output, fuel efficiency, driveability and exhaust emissions, etc. to accommodate variables such as fuel quality, engineering tolerances, variable maintenance discipline and extremes in operating environments.
A manufacturer will usually create a complete range of power outputs for a particular model (the VW Golf is a good example) by carrying out software modifications to power plants that are, mechanically almost identical…………… HEXUP can move you up the range for a fraction of the cost!
